1. What is a Google Post?

Since the end of June 2017, local businesses can use the new Google Posts feature on Google Business Profile.

Google Posts allow businesses to share timely content, similar to Facebook's "news feed" for local pages. It's an opportunity for businesses to promote discounts, sales, announce menu changes, or advertise specific events!

2. What do you need?

  • One or More Photos: Any size or format is now accepted. If you add text to the photo, place it in the centre, as the full image won't be visible until the user clicks.

  • A Descriptive Text: Between 100 to 1,500 characters.

  • Note: Posts are visible for a limited time. You can choose their duration, ranging from a few hours to a maximum of one year.

  • Event Title: Maximum of 58 characters (count your letters!).

  • Optional button like "Learn More," "Reserve," "Sign Up," or "Buy," leading to a URL.

  • Desired URL for the Button: Ideally, use a tracked URL to monitor its impact on your traffic 😏

  • COVID-Related Posts: Photos are not mandatory for Google Posts of this type.

3. You are ready: time to post!

  1. Log in to Google Business Profile and select the location.

  2. Click on "Create Post" or click on "Posts" in the menu.

  3. You’ll be taken to the "Create Post" screen. This screen offers options to add photos, text, events, and a button to your post. Simply click on each field and enter the required information.

  4. Once your post is created, click on Preview to see how it looks. If you're satisfied, click "Share Post" in the top right corner of the screen.

If you are a Partoo customer, you can contact your Customer Success Manager to publish or create Google Posts that align with your needs.
