When a user searches for a business on Google, the first point of contact with the establishment will be its Google Business Profile listing. From there, they will be able to call the establishment, request directions or visit the website. It is now also possible to make a reservation using the ‘Book on Google’ feature.

The ‘Book on Google’ feature allows Internet users to make reservations with local service businesses (restaurants, beauty salons, etc.) directly via their Google Business Profile listing.

The ‘Book’ button is prominently displayed on the Google Business Profile listing and is different from the basic link that was there previously (1). Once the user clicks on the link they can select the desired party size, date and time (2). If the establishment linked to the Google Business Profile listing has several booking service providers, the customer will be asked to choose between the different providers

The customer must then provide their information (first name, surname, phone number and email address) (3) before confirming their request (4).

The customer will then receive two confirmation emails: one from Google Business Profile, the other from the service provider (5).

You will need to work with a Google booking engine partner such as La Fourchette or Bookatable if you wish to make use of this feature.

If you use one of these solutions and your establishment has a Google Business Profile listing, then the ‘Book’ button will be added to it by default.

To remove the ‘Book’ button from a Google listing you will need to contact your booking manager directly and ask them to remove the button.
