How to tag my Google Reviews?

Categorize your Google Reviews to extract key information

Written by Margaux Griessmann

Tags allow you to categorize your Google Reviews (Google, Facebook, and TripAdvisor) to better understand your customers' expectations on topics that interest you (e.g., welcome, price, menu, etc.)

Tag creation and management (creation, modification, and deletion) are available regardless of your subscription, provided you have the Administrator role.

The difference between Review Management and Review Management+ then concerns how tags are assigned to Google Reviews and the analyses you can access:

  • Review Management (RM): you assign tags manually to your Google Reviews.

  • Review Management+ (RM+): AI can automatically assign tags to your Google Reviews, while giving you access to more advanced analyses.

Tags: creation and management

Tag creation is available regardless of your subscription (Review Management or Review Management+).

⚠️ Only users with the "Administrator" role can create, modify, or delete tags.

  2. Click on Filters, then select Google Reviews.

  3. On one of your Google Reviews, click Add a tag.

  4. Enter the desired tag name (for example: Welcome).

Assign tags to your Google Reviews

The method of assigning tags depends on your subscription.

With Review Management (RM)

The Review Management offer allows:

  • to assign tags manually to Google Reviews;

  • to obtain a quantitative analysis and a SWOT analysis of the tags used.

    • For all analyses, only Google Reviews will be considered.

Manually tag a Google Review

  1. Go to Google Reviews > Customer Voice.

  2. Click on Filters, then select Google Reviews.

  3. Click on Add a tag on the relevant Google Review.

  4. Select one or more tags.

The same Google Review can receive multiple tags.

To remove a tag, simply click the cross to the right of the tag.

With Review Management+ (RM+)

Review Management+ includes all the features of Review Management, plus AI-based features.

In addition to manual tagging, RM+ allows:

  • automatic tagging of Google Reviews by AI;

  • a quantitative analysis;

  • a SWOT analysis;

  • a qualitative analysis of Google Reviews.

    • For all analyses, only Google Reviews will be considered.

Thanks to automatic tagging, AI assigns tags to Google Reviews without manual intervention, based on the themes they address.

You can also apply this automatic tagging system to Google Reviews received in the last 24 months.

Configure automatic tagging (RM+)

  1. Go to Settings ⚙️.

  2. Open Statistics, then the Tags & Analysis tab.

  3. Select the tags that the AI can use to categorize your Google Reviews.

  4. Choose the maximum number of tags that can be assigned to each review.

  5. Click Save.

Automatic tagging can rely on three types of tags.

  • Tags recommended by Partoo (blue)

    These tags are predefined and recommended by Partoo. They have been tested by our teams and are automatically translated in the interface according to the user's language.

  • Custom tags (orange)

    You can create your own tags to adapt them to your activity. For the best results with the AI, we recommend:

    • using simple and explicit terms;

    • avoiding abbreviations;

    • avoiding overly technical terms;

    • favoring neutral and easily understandable words.

    Unlike Partoo tags, custom tags are not automatically translated. If your users work in multiple languages, you will need to create the tags in the desired languages.

  • Tags suggested by Jim, the Partoo AI agent (purple)

    Jim can suggest up to 10 new tags, automatically generated from your last 250 to 1000 Google Reviews, depending on your review volume. New suggestions are offered every six months, and an email notification as well as a “To Do” card on the homepage will inform organization administrators that a new suggestion from Jim is available.

    This feature is only available for accounts with at least 250 Google Reviews.

Apply automatic tagging to old Google Reviews

Once your setup is complete, you can ask the AI to automatically apply your tags to reviews received during the last 24 months.

When activating, a window allows you to choose:

  • whether to enable retroactivity or not;

  • whether to keep the tags already present on the reviews or replace them.

Note:

  • retroactivity is limited to 3 uses;

  • the confirmation window appears only when a change has been made in your tag configuration;

  • processing can take up to 24 hours.
