Resolve a Google Business Profile Duplicate from Partoo

This guide explains how to identify your situation and start the resolution process from Partoo.

Google can detect your profile as a Duplicate when another profile with similar data already exists on Google Maps. There are two distinct situations: a true Duplicate (it is indeed the same Business duplicated) and a false Duplicate (Google mistakenly associated two different Businesses).

How to know if it is a true or false Duplicate?

Partoo displays the two profiles side by side: your profile and the one identified by Google as a potential Duplicate. You must answer the question: "Is it the same Business?"

  • If yes: it is a true Duplicate, follow procedure A.

  • If no: it is a false Duplicate, follow procedure B.

Procedure A: True Duplicate (same Business duplicated)

  • Google detected two profiles for the same Business. The goal is to merge the two profiles to keep only one.

1. You have access to the Duplicate profile

✅ You can start the merge immediately:

  1. Go to Settings > Platforms > Actions required > Google

  2. Click on the concerned profile

  3. Click on Resolve the issue

  4. Confirm it is the same Business

  5. Sync your Google account or select one already connected

  6. Partoo verifies that you have access to the Duplicate profile

  7. Partoo automatically triggers the merge of the two profiles

2. You do not have access to the Duplicate profile

  • You must first recover ownership of the profile:

    1. Go to Settings > Platforms > Actions required > Google

    2. Click on the concerned profile

    3. Click on Resolve the issue

    4. Confirm it is the same Business

    5. Sync your Google account or select one already connected

    6. Partoo detects that you do not have access to the Duplicate profile

    7. You are redirected to the Google ownership request form

    8. Submit your request directly on Google

The current owner of the profile has 5 days to accept or refuse your request. Without a response, Google will offer you a recovery option by validation. This step takes place entirely on Google, outside of Partoo.

Procedure B: False Duplicate (two different Businesses)

Google mistakenly associated two distinct Businesses. The goal is to contest this report with Google so that your profile regains its normal status.

1. You have access to the profile reported as Duplicate

✅ You can contest immediately:

  1. Go to Settings > Platforms > Actions required > Google

  2. Click on the concerned profile

  3. Click on Resolve the issue

  4. Confirm it is not the same Business

  5. A message explains that Google made a mistake and how to correct it

  6. Sync your Google account or select one already connected

  7. Partoo verifies that you have access to the profile

  8. You are redirected to the Google contact form

  9. Fill out and submit the form directly on Google

2. You do not have access to the profile reported as Duplicate

You can request access directly from Partoo:

  1. Go to Settings > Platforms > Actions required > Google

  2. Click on the concerned profile

  3. Click on Resolve the issue

  4. Confirm it is not the same Business

  5. Sync your Google account or select one already connected

  6. Partoo detects that you do not have access to the profile

  7. Send an access request to your administrator from Partoo

  8. Once access is granted, resume the flow and access the Google contact form

  9. Fill out and submit the form directly on Google

📩 You will be notified by email when your access request is accepted or refused.

3. You are an administrator (org admin) - false Duplicate

The procedure is simplified for administrators on the Partoo interface:

  1. Go to Settings > Platforms > Actions required > Google

  2. Click on the concerned profile

  3. Click on Resolve the issue

  4. Confirm it is not the same Business

  5. Sync your Google account

  6. If you do not yet have access to the profile, Partoo automatically retrieves this access

  7. You are redirected to the Google contact form

  8. Fill out and submit the form directly on Google.

  9. You must ensure you have access to the supporting documents.

    1. If you have them in your possession, click "Yes."

    2. If you do not have them, click "No": you will then need to name a user who has the supporting documents in their possession.

Important points to remember

  • Partoo helps you identify the type of Duplicate and start the procedure, but the final resolution depends entirely on Google.

  • For a true Duplicate without access to the profile: the ownership request can take up to 5 days.

  • For a false Duplicate: prepare any proof showing that your two Businesses are distinct (address, name, activity).

  • Partoo does not have access to the status of your request or the processing time once the form is submitted.
