Understanding Store Locator tracking

Written by Lucie Bréhaut
  • Tracking allows you to monitor user actions on your Store Locator.

Objectives

  • Analyze your Store Locator's performance

  • Understand user behavior

  • Identify areas for optimization

Tracking plan

  • The tracking plan is defined and validated in the functional specifications document, before the Store Locator development phase.

  • The following elements are typically tracked:

    • Number of page views

    • Clicks on buttons and CTAs (phone, directions, email, appointment booking, etc.)

    • Types of devices used (desktop, mobile, tablet)

    • Traffic sources (Google, direct access, ChatGPT, etc.)

How does tracking work?

  • During development, Partoo integrates a tracking script directly into your Store Locator's code.

  • This script:

    • collects user interactions

    • sends the data to Partoo's Google Analytics 4 account

    • feeds a Data Studio monitoring dashboard

Everything is configured by our developers — no action is required on your side.

Your monitoring dashboard

  • Once your Store Locator is live:

    • A Data Studio dashboard is created by the Partoo team

    • It is shared with you during the Delivery Meeting

This dashboard allows you to easily monitor your Store Locator's performance.

Data & privacy

Three key points:

  1. No personal or demographic data is collected

  2. Adding Partoo tracking does not impact your existing setup

  3. Partoo tracking complements your tools, without modifying or overwriting your data or your Data Layer.

Going further (optional)

  • If you'd like to leverage the data in your own tools, you can integrate:

    • Your own Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

    • Your Google Tag Manager (GTM)

This configuration must be defined upfront, during the project's functional specifications phase.
